Description

State of the art medical facility is currently hiring a coding specialist. Excellent Full Time opportunity for an experienced coder with HIMS certification.

The coding specialist is responsible for monitoring coding and abstracting all inpatient, ambulatory, observation, and emergency room patient records using ICD-9-CM and CPT/HCPCS coding rules, federal guidelines, and other hospital guidelines. Participates in a team effort to keep accounts receivables to a minimum of 4 days. Orients, trains and assists coding staff in conjunction with Coding Manager. The individual in this great position will assist in the training and ongoing development of quality assurance program, and participate in monthly staff meetings, education, and brainstorming sessions to improve workflow and processes.

The coder is willing to help where needed to include covering for department so phones are answered, visitors are greeted, and physicians are properly assisted. The coding specialist will display a service oriented attitude.

The individual in this position will as as primary medical staff contact for all coding issues, including updating and informing staff of new or significant changes in Federal regulation that impact hospital reimbursement, coding compliance issues/rules, etc. Interaction is initiated to expedite billing and/or seek clarification and/or to educate physicians. Coding specialist will handle billing issues and patient account questions in a timely manner as to not delay billing.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Associates (RHIT) or Bachelors (RHIA) Degree with certification in Health Information Management with 2 years experience coding both inpatient and ambulatory acute care records preferred. Equivalent experience certified as a Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) also accepted at a minimum.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

We have an opening for an outstanding Med Lab Tech Supervisor. This is a hospital lab based, day shift position that includes the following duties:

Supervises day-to-day operations of core laboratory section staff to insure timely and appropriate delivery of laboratory testing and reporting Serves as working supervisor of the section. The Paramedic will be responsible for providing Advanced Life Support (ALS) at times, included in this could be interpretation of EKG's, electrical interventions to support the cardiac functions, performing advanced intubation in airway management, and administering IV fluids and drugs under the direction of off-site physicians. Vent experience is a plus.

The Paramedic will be responsible for transporting emergency and non-emergency patients to various healthcare facilities within the Cleveland area. The person in this position will encounter patients with varying levels of illness, and conditions, and MUST be able to handle all patients with respect.

Lifting and assisting patients with movement is a requirement, flexibility of schedule is required as well.

Excellent, oral and written communications will be used. Paramedics will communicate with dispatch via phone and radio. Previous experience with this is a plus. Written reports are required for every run.

Requirements

MUST BE an Ohio Certified Paramedic at time of hire.

Fulfill CEU requirements on an ongoing basis.
